What do you think it is about Hawkeye that’s so compelling as a character?
kate bishop, a.k.a. hawkeye, is actually the greatest sharpshooter known to man. (shut up, barton.)
fangirl challenge (ten male characters): clint barton [9/10]
❝ Never a master planner or a deep thinker, Hawkeye would frequently find himself in hot water far over his head and have to use every bit of skill and wits to get himself out… Hawkeye was obnoxious, cracking jokes at inappropriate moments, openly disrespectful of authority, grousing all the time— a general nuisance to have around. But we all knew it was because of his own insecurity and feeling of unworthiness. Here was a poor orphan, playing the world’s most dangerous game, with every single person he met outclassing him in some way. How would you act in that case? ❞

"Several people have commented on the letter about Kate going to bed with Marvel Boy. A tricky one to respond to. I did several drafts before eventually getting down to something that could be printed, and even that was taken down a gear, because there’s limits to what you can say in a Marvel Letters page, y’know?
ONE comic book bow and arrow guy works out. and one does NOT.

Hawkeye & Margaret through the years
oh my god, Llin, you’re just trying to kill me, aren’t you.
In all seriousness - I don’t ship these two, but they have what is basically my favourite friendship in fiction. Find me another pair of characters who go from barely-concealed mutual loathing to wary distrust to respected colleagues to vitriolic, bitchy, deeply loving friends. In the end, they look out for each other. (The episode where they stay with a paralysed patient and risk getting captured by the Chinese, and they’re both terrified but they’re both being calm so the other one won’t freak out - owww.) And of course they make out all the time, and have sex at least once (probably more times, let’s be fair) because they both really like no-strings sex, and they acknowledge it’s something they have in common! I love them so.
